There is no hacker named Kurt Chapman, Charlotte Simmonds or by any other name, or with any weird address such as bumtnoo7@hotmail.com bm_toon7@hotmail.com or any other variation trying to add you as a friend to steal your info. The hoax started out naming the hotmail addresses listed above, then mutated to give the ficticious hacker a name to make the chain letter sound more believable.

Facebook is not deleting accounts of people who do not pass on forwards. Facebook will not assume you are abusing their service, using a posting bot, or doing something else wrong because you have not forwarded a chain letter.On the other hand, they may assume you are a bot or committing a spammy violation of their TOS if you do forward chain letters, which are supposed to be against their TOS in the first place.

So how Fun Space, Super Wall and all other viral nuissance applications get away with it is a mystery. A Funspace Chain Letter Facebook will never distribute important information about maintenance or anything else via Fun Space (formerly Fun Wall,) Super Wall, Advanced Wall (All of them nothing but chain letter spreaders so anything but fun, super or advanced,) or plain wall post. The makers of Funspace and Super Wall aren't even Facebook administrators, but third parties Facebook is allowing to use their site.

Facebook Needs to Remove Trash Apps Says Analyst Applications are programs that in theory are supposed to be fun and useful. There are some that live up to those standards, but a tidal wave of others that don't and are actually nothing but viral wastes that aim to collect the most number of users. These are the quizzes that tell you to invite friends to see your results, the "Send virtual gift" apps that promise you a wide variety of choices but only let you choose from a fraction of them to send to friends. To get more choices, these annoyances make you invite more and more friends. Any multilevel app that becomes too level and point oriented and does as little for the user as possible, making them invite friends to get to a new level is really just a high-tech chain letter.

No Facebook or any other internet group is going to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records, not even if any group has one million, two million or any other number of members. Guinness simply will not include chain letters or anything associated with them in its categories for world records.

The blogging feature of Facebook referred to as "Notes" on the site has always been plagued with all kinds of meme chain letters. These meme chains come in slightly different wrapping, some are called "Memories" or "Memory Notes" where a person has to write a memory of the person who tagged them. Other memes are simply the same old never-ending lists of random questions that can be described as trivial and forgetable at best, and idiotic at worst. These questionaire memes don't always seem to have fixed titles, and can be titled anything from what sounds like a status or movie quote to "Taken from So-And-So." being the person who previously tagged the writer of the note currently being read.

The x number of things meme chain has been rampaging through the blogosphere in so many guises at the speed of a 5 level hurricane. In the form of 25 Random Things About Me it hit Facebook notes with a vengeance in early 2009, causing some privacy concerns for at least one blogger.

Fun Lists Just a bunch of silly survey list quizzes of the sort found in chain letters. Unfortunately, the word "fun" on a Facebook application has become an indication that it is going to be anything but, once the user has taken the quizzes and junked up their friends' news-feeds with all the silly answers, and maybe even invites to use the application. Admittedly some quizzes are fun and interesting, but these lists are just plain ridiculous.

There is a group on Facebook against "stupid fwd" emails, but it isn't against all forwards. Only the out and out hoaxes.
