Religious/Patriotic/Political chain letters

debunk of one of those stupid anti-immigration chain letters

Hoax Busters - Dr. Brad Burke

In North America, most of the religipatriolitical chain letters being ranted over, ridiculed and laughed at on so many sites, seem to come from and be forwarded by people who are unfortunately either Christian, right-wing, or commonly both. Not only does that demonstrate how easily these people are manipulated by dishonest alarmist chain letters, it sullies their credibility and does a lot of damage to Christianity's reputation as a whole. Adding to this problem is the backlash of massive hate spew and lulz (malevolent laughter at someone else's expense) from liberal democrat lleft-wingers and anti-Christian twats who lie just as much as the notorious right-wing chain letters, but through their own equally paranoid, skewed, dishonest and misguided left-wing chain letters and other venues. Leftists pose as racist rightwing nuts

There are already far too many netizens and sites on both sides, doing their very best to keep trotting out this chain letter-lover = right-wing nut, chain letter-hater = left-wing so-called "more rational" (Yeah right) stereotype, and it needs to stop.

This article is right on about chain letters and the fanatic tea party movement, but it doesn't say one way or the other whether or not the human-caused climate change thing is a hoax. But republicans and Christians should definitely heed it when it comes to the subject of malicious lying chain letters.

What the non-Christian, the anti-Christian, the left and combinations thereof don't do is complain about all the chain letters they pass around and receive that agree with their own opinions.

What the vast majority of conservatives ranging from extreme to moderate, as well as the majority of Christians don't do is question, research, or complain about chain letters of any type they get; and they keep feeding the problem by passing those chain letters along and posting them up on their sites.

this left-wing whinge says right-wingers tell pants on fire lies 76% of the time and accuses one blogger of originating a chain letter. this republican blog points out the left are as guilty of smearing and chain letters as they accuse the right.

This article points out that wild chain letters do in fact come from both left and right.

This article says the future of America's healthcare has been reduced to a chain letter. White House Email Program Stumbles, and Conservatives Get in Their Kicks techPresident Well, fair is fair, the right has been stumbling for years by using chain letters, and the left have been getting in their kicks on a constant basis because of it. White House Now Resorting to Email Spamming hmmm. Sadly, right-wingers and other non-leftists do not seem to be applying these doubts expressed in this article to themselves and have not stopped passing on their own misguided chain letters. But there's no denying the facts. The White House committed a huge internet gaff via their own chain letter. Left-wingers do forward chain letters. The left can no longer expect to be believed without question as they so cockily rant and gloat about the guilty pleasure and misguided efforts of chain letters being only a right-wing thing.

At least some of the radical right-wing chain letters and other hoaxes designed to villify conservatives are created by left-wingers to manipulate, prank, and ridicule their political opponents by accusing them of chain letter activity and/or racism.

Smells Like a Hoax The left lifts, misquotes tweets, then creates and blames a chain letter on an opponent.

In the meantime, right-wingers are doing everything wrong where chain letters are concerned, by letting themselves get taken in by them. Even if a republican passes on a chain letter, then follows up with a correction that it was false after all, the damage has already been done, because they've just fed the most negative stereotype about republicans on the net, and made themselves look the fool into the bargain. The Congress Are Dumb Travelers jape that didn't used to be about congress, but mutated in that direction.

Most unfortunate is the huge brain-burp experienced by, yes, sadly and predictably republicans again! Yet another republican who spread that chain letter around, actually took it for something real, barely a week after chanting the "Obama's Praise Song is just like the Hitler Youth program!" slogan along with their fellow republicans on a forum! Another republican had just posted the viral video chain featuring one class, just one classroom, not a whole nation, voluntarily (it was not manditory) singing a song in praise of Barak Obama! While that classroom went way over the top with the annoying song, (did any other president get so much buttering up when taking office?) what's worse is that it became a chain letter, increasing the annoyance factor even more, and yet another republican black eye.

It is sad when otherwise very intelligent, rational people turn blind and stupid when hit with chain letters that are at best, bad jokes, at worst, malicious propaganda all of them with one goal, to dupe and control the masses into passing them along!. If republicans don't want government control, why the heck are they allowing cockeyed chain letters to take control of them?

Certainly some chain letters have been from terribly misguided right-wingers and people who consider themselves to be Christians, but since not every hoax originator can be traced, it is impossible to give percentages as to how many come from misguided extremists and how many from malicious pranksters. The same person who put together the Touched By an Angel cancelation hoax, could very well be the same as the person who started the You Could Have Heard A Pin Drop chain letter and could also be the one who started the Amy Bruce dying kid hoax and the horoscope chain for all anyone knows. Some originators of such chain forwards can and have been revealed, but many culprits have never been found out. Do you want people thinking you would fall for a "Press alt4 and your crush will call you at midnight/!" chain letter? No? Well then, this is why it is absolutely vital for anyone who wants to be taken seriously as credible and not ridiculed as a gullible schmuck to stop perpetuating chain forwards.
